“Another Way”
In order
to reach those who are afraid of Christians and church, we
have an Adult English Class at both Daya and Lighthouse. The
Lord has blessed these outreaches and a few at Daya have already
been saved and one baptized through this ministry. Recently,
Judy, a lady at Lighthouse asked where she would go when she
died. We were so glad for her question and responded by telling
her that those who accept Christ as their Savior go to heaven
and those who don't go to hell. Then she asked where her mother
who had died went because she was not a Christian. Despite
trying to keep the focus on herself, she insisted on knowing
more about her mother's situation. Finding no hope of a second
chance from us, she ended the conversation by saying that we
must “find another
way”. Please pray that Judy and
others like her will understand that Jesus is the only way
and trust in Him before it is too late for them as well.
Time Change
This month the Sunday school at Daya
was changed to Saturday afternoon to help reach more children.
The attendance had dwindled on Sunday morning as many children
would not get up early or would go out with their families
for the day. So far the change has brought in some new children
and some children who attended VBS this year. At Lighthouse
the children's class is still on Wednesday afternoon but with
the beginning of a new school semester it is also a transitional
time. Please pray for the Lord's blessings on these important
ministries. We have already seen some of these children get
saved, enter the teen ministry, and begin to serve the Lord.
Growing Up
It has been exciting to see our young
people grow spiritually. One special blessing has been that
some teens have started faithfully attending the Sunday evening
service at Lighthouse. In the past, they would not attend because
of school on Monday morning. However, we prayed and encouraged
them to trust in the Lord. This is a big step in a society
that makes school the “center of the student's universe”. One
teenager that has recently made progress is Peter Chang. He
is starting this semester at China Medical University , and
we ask you to pray that he would do well in his studies and
that he would also continue to be faithful to the Lord. Please
also pray that he would follow the Lord in baptism. Previously
his parents prohibited him from being baptized, but now the
only hindrance seems to be his shyness.
Survey Trip
This semester Andy is teaching New
Testament Survey at the Chinese Baptist Bible College . We
are glad that a few people from Lighthouse are taking this
course because they want to grow and serve the Lord. Please
pray for more Christians to desire to serve the Lord and surrender
to His call. We especially need men to surrender to preach
and pastor churches in Taiwan .
Thank you for your commitment to reaching lost people around
the world. We know that together we can reach more souls with
the gospel of Christ.
For
souls,

Andy
