November 2008

We praise the Lord for allowing Lighthouse Baptist Church to celebrate ten years of ministry in Taichung city. We have included a few pictures and letters sharing some of the blessings that God has given to us and hope that you are as encouraged by them as we are.

I remember the time our family passed by the church. That was the first I saw them – walking alone. There was a lot of enthusiasm in their eyes. I was seven years old in elementary school, so I was a little shy to talk to strange foreigners. As time passed, I grow stronger day after day.
Starting to think why Jesus exists for us - to save everyone from doing mistakes; so I trusted in Jesus in grade 5. There are lots of chance proving myself, showing myself to let more people know Jesus. I gain lots of confidence there. There are lots of games, learning, and activities in summer vacation I have participated in and that makes me feel we are just like a family. Time flies so fast. It has been ten years since the church was established. Instead of going back to America, the couple still stay in Taiwan accomplish their dream to let us know how Jesus loves us. Although I am in senior high school I still come here twice a week contacting with Jesus. There are lots of benefits in going to the church, such as learning English, making friends, not feeling lonely, and the biggest benefit believing in Jesus.
Thank Pastor Simpson and his wife for taking care of me. - Jo Jing-yiow “Jason”

In the blink of an eye it’s been 10 years. I remember the first time I came to church I was a silly kid in elementary school. I am so thankful for those who accepted my brother and myself and lit a spark in our lives. At first, I didn’t understand the truth about God, but after I while I began to understand. Even though I still had questions, I decided one thing… God is the real God.
The church is my second home. Pastor and Mrs. Simpson are like our parents. I am so thankful that the Lord has given me so much in my life and that I have made many friends at church… most importantly, that I met the Friend that will never leave me – Jesus.
Lighthouse Baptist Church will have to move. Regarding this I am reluctant to leave, I have many memories, but I also have many expectations. I hope after we move, everyone will continue to come to church and sing hymns and learn from God’s Word. I thank the Lord that I have all these things to help me commemorate the anniversary – really!!! - Huang Hsien-yin “Hannah”

Please continue praying that the Lord will provide a suitable building for Lighthouse. It has been extremely hard to find anything in a good location that is affordable as prices have sky-rocketed. We also ask you to continue praying for Dali Faith Baptist Church as we continue to face many attacks and struggles especially in the Chinese ministry.
The Lord is faithful and we continue to trust His provision. Thank you for being a great support and encouragement to our ministry.

For souls,

 Andy & Lisa Simpson
