Send the Light
This
month at Lighthouse has been a time of mission’s emphasis
with the theme “Send the Light”. Two special speakers
brought challenging and instructional messages along these lines.
Currently, the church supports one missionary couple in Thailand.
We challenged them to increase their faith so that at least
one more missionary could be supported and, praise the Lord,
the response so far has been enough to begin supporting a second
missionary! At the same time, we have been giving more instruction
in personal evangelism as well as providing more ministry opportunities.
We ask you to pray for two things regarding this. First, please
pray that the people will be faithful to their prayer and financial
commitment toward missions. We know that it is easy for young
Christians to make a commitment but harder to remain consistent
to it. Second, pray for our people to have a burden for their
family, friends and neighbors and to get involved in outreach
ministries. We want to see more people come to the Lord and
know that for this to happen our people must take an active
role.
Headed Home
In January we told you about Jang Yien-mei an elderly lady from
Mainland China who became a member of our church. Recently,
her family in the Mainland asked her to return to care for a
grandchild. In the short time before she left, we tried to disciple
her and get good Bible material for her to take back for personal
use as well as to share with other believers. We were sad to
see her go but hope that her brief time with us may help her
to be a witness to those we cannot reach. As she left she told
us that she hoped to be able to return someday and join us in
serving the Lord in Taiwan. Please pray for the salvation of
her daughter and family who live in Taiwan and have attended
services several times.
Taya Anniversary
Taya Bible Baptist Church celebrated another anniversary this
month with special music, a message on the importance of the
church, and dinner-on-the-grounds. Photos from the church’s
conception to the present were displayed, and it was fun to
see everyone looking at how much they as well as the church
had changed. We praise the Lord that the Taya church continues
to grow not only numerically but especially in spiritual understanding
and desire. Despite this there is still much to be done and
your prayers for continued growth of believers and for more
to accept Christ are greatly needed.
Finally, we ask you to pray for our Easter services
as we begin to plan and prepare. Thank you for your continued
commitment and involvement in the Lord’s harvest fields.
For
souls,
