“Castle of the Heart”
After many hours of hard work by many of our people, both Lighthouse and Daya Baptist Church were transformed into “castles” complete with drawbridges and ready for an assault by a horde of excited children. It was a fun and challenging week with VBS in the morning and also in the afternoon, but we are glad that the Lord blessed and gave us good and encouraging results. First, as mentioned, we had participation from many of our church folks including adults and teenagers as they worked together not only to prepare but also to help throughout the week. Second, we had a good group of children with many first time visitors . Admittedly, Daya suffered a lower than usual attendance this year because the local elementary school had an activity. However, at Lighthouse more than fifty children enjoyed singing, games, puppets, crafts, refreshments and a clear Bible lesson each day. Third, there were good spiritual results as five children , two at Daya and three at Lighthouse, responded for salvation . Others showed interest but were not quite ready to make a decision at this time. Please pray for those who were saved to continue coming and growing, for an outreach to the parents of these children, and for those who helped to see the fruit of their labor for the Lord and desire to continue serving even when there is not a “special” activity.

Thank you for helping us to reach these precious young children for the Lord. We hope that as they grow up they will join us in reaching others!
