Spring Gleaning
This spring has been filled with activities. The Lighthouse Baptist Church hosted two teacher training sessions on Sundays before the evening service. Five area churches sent teachers and potential workers. Emily Lwo, a single missionary from southern Taiwan; and BBFI missionary wife Carol Feistel were our guest teachers. Everyone went away encouraged about reaching children on their own level and learning styles, and the effectiveness of puppets in ministry. Those attending also learned some new songs and other practical helps to aid in their service to the Lord.
Several of these churches also joined us as the Taya Bible Baptist Church hosted a youth basketball tournament and cookout. It was a great time for Christian fellowship, and in addition, many teens invited unsaved friends to participate. We hope that we have further opportunities to share the gospel with these young people.
“Each One Reach One” was the theme of Lighthouse’s mission emphasis month. We were able to talk to our missionary in Thailand by phone during one of our services and the other two were able to come speak during the month. At the conclusion, the Faith Promise total exceeded last year’s goal! Please pray that our people will keep their promise to the Lord and also try to lead someone to Christ this year.
Because He Lives!
Easter, of course, was the highlight of the month. The Taya Bible Baptist Church teens presented a skit before the message, and there were several special music presentations. It was good to see some friends come that had not been in church recently. We pray they will be encouraged to continue attending and growing.
At Lighthouse Baptist Church the building was full and the spirit matched that of Christmas. The teens as well as the church choir performed new songs, and the children presented music and poems as well as “The Three Trees” play. Just before the message, we showed a video presentation of the life of Christ that ended with the song “Because He Lives” and pictures of the resurrection. Suddenly, everyone began singing with the music and as we looked into the crowd we could see that many were moved to tears, including an unsaved lady that has been attending for two years. Please continue to pray that Anne Lai will soon accept Christ.
We trust that your spring has also been filled with many blessings. Thank you for your continued faithfulness to our Lord and His work!

For souls,

 Andy & Lisa Simpson
