CHRISTMAS IN A THAI NURSING HOME
December 16th Members from Bangjak Baptist, Nakhorn Pathom Baptist
and Pin Klao Baptist all joined together in outreaches in the Prison
ministry and also for the first time in a government nursing home
facility for women who have no children or immediate relatives to
care for them. This was also a first this year. We left them some
gospel booklets and also individual bags with soap, powders,
toothpaste and some snacks.
SEACON SQUARE DEPARTMENT STORE CONTACTS BANGJAK BAPTIST CHURCH TO
PRESENT THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS
Every year it is our
desire to reach as many people during the Christmas season as
possible and one way we have tried to do that is to go out into
public places. This year it was a special blessing to have the
largest nearby mall contact us. They requested us to come and sing
and tell about what our church has to offer the community. We took
about 30 members of our church on December 18th and then again on
Christmas Eve.
Many people watching
stopped to listen and then asked questions and wanted our address
and phone number. Wow, what better opportunity could you ask for. We
also had freedom to distribute information and tracts along with
candy to shoppers while we were there.
Robinsons’ one of the
department stores in the mall also contacted us about singing inside
their store. After our mini-concert the manager asked would be ready
to come again around Valentine’s Day!! Please pray for continued
opened doors and much fruit!!!
Bangjak Baptist Church
Had 4 Adults Accept Christ During December!!
TWO ADULTS SAVED DURING CHRISTMAS SERVICE!!
We celebrated our
Christmas worship service this year in song, drama and through God’s
word. It was such a joy to see a young couple who have been
regularly attending the church the last 3 months decide to accept
Christ at the end of the service!!
We have truly seen God
work in the lives of Christians who have been willing to give of
themselves to spend hours preparing gift bags, practicing plays,
music and taking off from work to go into schools, prison, and
nursing homes to help present the gospel!.
GOVERNMENT SCHOOL 1000 KIDS
DEAF SCHOOL 200 STUDENTS
This year we were asked into 2 different schools. One is a very
large school of 1,000 students ranging from K1-9th grade. Most of
the students attending this school are from families that are
financially struggling. It is always a challenge to prepare for a
school of this size. The date they gave us to come was during the
time that most of our staff and workers were scheduled to be in 3
different village churches up north. It was exciting to see new
people get involved to fill the gap during this time.
Please pray for Fontip’s
speedy recovery. Member for 9 years, most of her family has passed
away, had major surgery December 24 and was on life support for 3
weeks. She is still in the hospital recovering.
SPECIAL PRAYER REQUESTS:
1. DECISIONS:GOOD PROBLEM BUT WE ARE OVERCROWDED –NEED TO BUILD OR
MOVE. SEEKING GOD’S WILL
2. EVANGELISTIC OUTREACHES: LANGUAGE CLASSES AND SPORTS EVENT
PRESENTING THE GOSPEL
3. MORE MALE LEADERSHIP AS WE GROW
4. DISCIPLING THE NEW CHRISTIANS SO THEIR FAITH IS STRONG
USING TECHNOLOGY FOR OUR ADVANTAGE!
We are in the process of upgrading our website for the Bangjak
Baptist Church. In a country of 75 million people, and only 25
independent Baptist churches, it is not hard to imagine how many
people are not within reach of a church. Many people have
accepted Christ and had to move to an area where there presently is
no gospel witness. For this reason we have tried to provide
streaming video online so that people can watch the services. We are
still working out all the minor problems but you can visit our
website at:
