Believers
Added to the Church
Things
are going well out in Prey Veng province where the Calvary
Bible Baptist Church is now under the leadership of Cambodian
pastor Ly Kimlong. The work is primarily reaching the high
school and college and career age groups.
16 souls have received the Lord Jesus Christ
as Savior. We will be baptizing there soon as well. Some
have made the commitment to study the Bible further in
a Bible Institute setting.
In Phnom Penh, two orphans recently received
Christ as Lord and Savior. We are seeing more parents coming
to the services to hear the preaching of the Word of God.
We are beginning to make inroads into the ethnic Vietnamese
community in our neighborhood. Pictured at left is a Vietnamese
boy who is now attending our church. Pray for the Cambodian
and Vietnamese souls who need the Lord Jesus Christ! James
1:27 Spotlight on Orphans
Our newest orphan child, pictured at left, is Sopheak.
She is eight years old and in the first grade. She is
a happy little girl and giggles all the time. Just being
around brings joy to your heart! Her father was unfaithful
to her mother and died of AIDS. Now her mother is near
death due to AIDS. Sopheak was born after all this and
is HIV negative. Pray for us as we minister to these
needy children!
Youth Camp and Medical News
Youth
camp was a spiritual success! Approximately 500 youth
from several churches attended this year’s
camp. Fifty eight people attended camp from our two churches.
We had 15 trust the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior during
the week.

Our trip to Thailand for Cindy’s melanoma skin checkup
went good. She got a positive report and presently there
seems to be no melanomas to be concerned about. She does
have a tumor in her left eye that the doctor says we should
have checked every three months. Pray for Cindy’s
health. We will go back to Thailand to the Bumrungrad Hospital
in November. |
