Dear Praying Friends,

It’s windy here today, an indication that the season is changing.  We do look forward to some cooler weather.  We’ve had the summer harvest of rice, watermelon, lichees, and “dragon eyes”.  Now, more rice is sprouting up in the fields; pomelos are being harvested; moon cakes are on sale in the markets and stores, which means that Mid-Autumn Festival is upon us.

Reflecting back to summer events, God blessed the VBS meetings held at the Daya Bible Baptist Church and the Lighthouse Baptist Church.  There was good attendance at both churches, with new children coming to hear about the God of the Bible.  Best of all two boys came to know Christ as Saviour.

Then on the eastern side of the island we had summer youth camp hosted by the Taitung Baptist Church and the Shrgoo Baptist Church.  You may remember praying for the church in Shrgoo in years past.  Through God’s blessings, you helped this church when they were with without a pastor by enabling us to commute back and forth for about one year.  It was so good see them involved in the youth camp activities.

God blessed the youth camp with 132 campers.  (We normally have around 100 campers.) There were 12 of these precious souls who accepted the Lord as their personal Savior; and there were three who made the decision to be baptized after camp.  Then there were 27 young people who dedicated their lives to the Lord.

The last Saturday of August we had a BBQ outing with four different churches.  We encouraged one of our young men, Ryan Chun, who is a sophomore in a National University to bring a short devotion.  Another one of our talented young men, Tommy Jiang, translated for Ryan from Chinese to English, as we had a good number of Filipinos from the TanDz Bible Baptist Church attending.  Seeing these young men serving the Lord is such as blessing. Please know that your prayers and giving to missions is not in vain.

Please ask God to bless us with His power and strength.  Please ask God to use us that we may make more disciples of Christ for His honor and glory.  Also, please ask God to bless us with a new car or van, if it is in His will.

We are truly thankful and blessed to be,
Your missionaries,
