Dear Prayer Partners,
Groups from the States have been a big blessing to us in 2008. We
have had visitors almost every month and each group has impacted our
lives and ministries in different ways. In August, we had the
privilege of ministering with a group of folks from Sagemont in
Houston. We ministered in Manila high schools; but, the highlight of
the trip was going to the island of Palawan in the southern
Philippines and reaching high schools there with the Gospel. That
week we saw over 500 receive Christ as their Savior. This was the
first missions trip for several people in our church.
In September, we hosted a group from Ventura Baptist. We had a great
time building a new Sunday School building for one of our satellite
churches, enclosing another Sunday School area and painting the
building. It was a blessing to work alongside this church. We are
also thankful for the building materials, Bibles and new sound board
and sound equipment that they purchased for our ministries here.
This group touched many lives through their hard work and love for
the Filipino people.
In October, it was our church's turn to take a missions trip to
Cambodia and a restricted access country (RAN). We were able to take
24 people from our church on this trip including a family out of our
church - the Tamayo family - to help set them up as full time
missionaries in Cambodia. They will be starting their first church
service on December 21, 2008. For many people in this group it was
their first international missions trip; missions came alive for
them and they understood in a greater way the need for them to give
and help send missionaries around the world. For two people, Erwin
and Rose, God confirmed in their hearts that He wanted them to go
back to Cambodia as missionaries. God allowed us to see 25 people
saved including 7 in underground churches in the RAN we were able to
visit.
