Dear Friends,
Janice and I send you greetings from Gulfport, Mississippi. We trust this letter finds all well. We are doing fine. It has been a restful month of August for us.

Janice and I have spent most of August in Burlington, Massachusetts with Jeff and Jennifer Preston and their family. On August 15, Jennifer (our third daughter) gave birth to her third child, Jarred Thomas Preston. It has also been a joy to fellowship with the good folks at Heritage Park Baptist Church where Jeff (our son-in-law) is on staff. Pastor Curt Weidenroth and his members have been most gracious toward us.

Right now, we are with Steve and Janelle Swann (our first daughter) and their family. The Swanns, who are missionaries in Sofia, Bulgaria, are presently in the States on furlough. We are enjoying our time with them.

I would like to ask you to remember Pastor Hadir of the Sunter Jaya Baptist Church in Jakarta in your prayers. Pastor Hadir, who many of you have prayed for over the past couple of years, has been quite sick. He has been in the hospital in Jakarta, but I understand that he is now home. Pray for his health but also remember his plans to obtain a wife! I do not have any breaking news on his engagement plans, but the process was well along when we left Jakarta the last of July. The other churches in Jakarta are doing fine. The Cipulir Baptist Church celebrated their 27th anniversary this last Sunday.

Please remember the Bible school in Jakarta as they began a new semester in August. The enrollment is somewhere around 80 students with several new students coming from West Kalimantan (Borneo).
