Dear Friends,
Greetings from California. Janice and I have been visiting
churches in California for the past couple of months. We have had a
wonderful time participating in several missions conferences while
renewing old friendships and making new ones. The pastors and members
in our supporting churches have been very gracious toward us, and we
do appreciate their desire to share in the ministry in Jakarta.
We have almost no news from the various ministries in Jakarta. Our
assumption is that this means they are all doing good, or they are
taking care of all the problems without disturbing us. Whatever, it
is clear that those ministries are continuing on as usual. We would
ask you to continue praying for the pastors, churches, and the students
in the Bible school.
We would like to remind you that we have been asking our churches
to help in raising funds for a building for the church in Cibubur.
Pastor Yusuf and his folks need better facilities for their work in
Cibubur. Several of our churches have given a special offering toward
this need, and we have now received $8,050. We would like to raise
$10,000 toward this need. If you feel led to help with this need, please
mark your offering for the Cibubur project. Thank you so much for having
a part in helping this church.
Next week, Janice and I will return to Virginia. We will be sorting
out some items that we have stored in Chesapeake, and then we will
be packing up and heading back to Jakarta the second week of May. However,
we will be making a slight detour on our journey back to Jakarta. It
seems that are return tickets are routed through Bulgaria where we
will spend some time with our daughter, her husband and their children.
As Janice and I head back to Indonesia we want to thank you folks
for the wonderful way you partner with us in the ministry in Jakarta.
Your kindness, your prayers and your faithful financial support are
truly appreciated.
In Christ,
