Dear
Praying Friends:
We had a wonderful time in Mandaue City April 25 with the
Bible Baptist Church. It was the 45th ministry anniversary
of Pastor Ralph Baladjay. However Bro. Ralph was in the
hospital that day. Edith and I visited with our dear
friend in the hospital and prayed with him. He went home on
Wednesday the 28th and on Tuesday, May 4 he was transported
to heaven. We returned to Mandaue on May 12 and I preached
the funeral. Edmundo Laurena preached at the graveside.
One person made a profession of faith. By head count there
were 800 people present. We miss Bro. Ralph but will see him
soon.
Sadly there have been 4 funerals in our family this year. My
brother, Dwane, died in January, Mac Michaelis, my sister's
son, departed this life in March, six year old Ester, my
brother's granddaughter, was buried in April, and a daughter
of my cousin, Aliese, passed away in May. Praise the Lord
all were saved so we will be together at the Great Reunion
above.
There have been blessings abundant also. Our daughter,
Janette, spent a few days in the
hospital in April. She
is now doing very well. The doctors think they have finally
found her problem and the medication is working well. Boyd
Lyons, fellow missionary and good friend since 1953 (we were
roommates at BBC), celebrated his 75th birthday May 18. His
church had special birthday services on May 16 and a
Birthday Bash on the 17th. It was a great time. And the
opportunity of preaching is always a joy and the Lord is
blessing this ministry at Berean Bible Baptist Church in
Paranaque. I am preaching two series of messages during my
time there.
Because of the economic crunch a few churches have dropped
us and a few more cut their support some. We understand
their situation. On the other hand there have been a few
churches that increased our support. The Lord continues to
meet our needs through His churches just as He has for 51
years. We are so grateful t to Him and to you who have and
do stand with us. Thank you for your gifts.
Together in
His harvest;
