LLOYD AND EDITH BAKER
MISSIONARIES TO THE PHILIPPINES

OCTOBER 2008

Dear Praying Friends:

This month we ministered in 4 churches. Sunday, October 12 I preached at Laloma Baptist Church in Quezon City. The pastor, Gilbert Toquero, was in India with Rex Galfo, a member of his church and a missionary with ABC going to India.

On the 19th we drove south to Nasugbo, Batangas to be with the Bible Baptist Church, Fidel Rearte, pastor. I taught the lesson in Sunday School, preached the morning worship service, as well as the evening service. The next day the church had a prayer fellowship with other churches in attendance. Edith spoke to the women and I to the men. It was a great time of fellowship and blessing.

Sunday morning, the 26th, I spoke at the Christian Bible Baptist Church in Cabuyao, Laguna for the closing service of their 10th annual mission conference. This work is a grand-daughter church of Pasig Bible Baptist Church. So Edith and I were Lolo and Lola (Grandfather and Grandmother) for the day. They treated us royally.

That evening we motored on to Calamba and preached in another grand-daughter church, Carpenter's House Baptist Church, for their second anniversary. The pastor, Adiel DeTorres, is the son of a former staff member at Pasig. Their rented church building was packed. In each of these services the Lord graciously touched hearts.

One of the blessings and benefits of serving over 48 years on the field is seeing spiritual children and grandchildren. What a joy to serve our great God! This spiritual fruit abounds to your account because you hold the rope that enables us to present Christ to our Filipino people.

Together in His harvest;

Lloyd and Edith Baker
